About Me.
Bailey is a motivated library professional currently working as the Instruction & Engagement Fellow at the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library. She is also finishing up her Master's in Library and Information Science at the University of California, Los Angeles, specializing in special collections and academic librarianship. She is on track to complete her thesis in the spring, currently titled "Across Bindings: Interoperable Metadata & Crowdsourcing for Manuscript Waste Fragments in Situ." Her work is deeply informed by a background in English literature, shaping her research to focus on bibliography, the construction of knowledge, and the historical development of literacy. Beyond research, she has hands-on experience in digitization, pedagogy, and cataloging. In her role at the Clark, she assists with events, facilitates class visits, and gives tours of the historic grounds. She has also worked as a Collections Digitization Assistant, contributing to the preservation and digital stewardship of a zine collection at the Stairwell LA gallery.
Bailey’s professional ethos is grounded in a commitment to expanding access to special collections and fostering interdisciplinary scholarship. Her work bridges archival practice and historical inquiry, emphasizing the role of material culture in shaping intellectual history. She is passionate about enabling researchers, scholars, and artists to engage with historical texts meaningfully. Through her academic and professional endeavors, she seeks to contribute to the evolving landscape of special collections librarianship and the study of the material book.
